December 23 On This Day (Nganko Nyawiyu) in Dunolly (Lea Kurribur) History

1864 Mayor and councillors sent a petition to anti-transportation league.

 1878 Local magnates argued at the opening of a section of the Dunolly-St Arnaud railway so no demonstration of the railway took place.

 1885 Floods wrecked Commercial Rd in Tarnagulla.

 1920 Miss Doris Costello, pupil Of St. Joseph’s Convent, was successful in the recent examination in connection with the London College of Music, she having gained the diploma of A.L.C.M. At the recent Merit examination the following pupils of St. Joseph’s Convent were successful in passing:—Kathleen Burns, Eileen Sheehan,Nella Sheehan, Sheila King, Frank Faux, and John Duggan.
