1861 Miners started digging Ah Wing’s garden as it was in the middle of the gold lead. Gold warden fined all the diggers 10 pounds each.
1866 The farmers at Wareek, Majorca and Bealiba began gathering in the wheat, some using machines but some still using old fashioned hand sickles.
1893 Three ladies arrived in Dunolly to receive educational instructions from the Govt Scent Farm, the Misses Flowers, Lindsay and Fuller.
1918 Robinson Crusoe Pantomime in Dunolly. Mr George Knight, the advance manager for the Victor Prince Pantomime Coy., has been in Dunolly during the week completing arrangements for the opening of the pantomime. The company, after playing a highly successful season at the Grand Opera House, Sydney, has embarked on provincial tour, and will open at Dunolly on Friday, 27th December, in the latest, greatest, and funniest pantomime of the day, Robinson Crusoe. The company is headed by the well-known operatic comedian and dancer, Mr Victor Prince, and he will be assisted by a specially selected company of vocalists and comedians. Miss Florence Lyle, who will make her first appearance before a Dunolly audience, comes with a London reputation, having starred for three years at the Prince of Wales' Theatre, London. The other members of the company have all won praise for their refined style of acting. A box plan is open at Mr. W. H.Clay's.
1934 Joyce Scott from Dunolly West sent in a story to The Argus telling of a dog she knew that guarded a hen and chicks, sitting near them all the time. If a vehicle approached the dog would drive the hen and chicks away to safety.
1940 Ten head of cattle were found staggering drunkenly along Broadway after having drunk at the railway station dam into which some opium poppies from the Soldiers Memorial had been thrown. It was supposed the cattle ate the plants and were still lurching about their paddock several hours later.

2006 It was announced a metal detectorist had found a nugget within the Central Goldfields Shire worth $100,000.
